Mountain Park Green Showcase Home:
Connecting the occupants with the site's natural beauty, every primary room directly accesses notable landscape features outside the home. The site's natural materials inspire the native stone, cedar, and heavy timber exterior materials; historic pebble dash stucco further connects the home to the southern Blue Ridge culture. Green design strategies developed by Johnston Design Group for the Cliffs at Mountain Park Community Design Guidelines include: locally available solar thermal renewable energy; responsibly harvested and produced, renewable green materials; and construction methods. The green design standard extends into the landscape, emphasizing tree preservation, restoring native plant communities, enhancing wildlife habitat, and responsible care of rain water resources.
