a naturally landscaped urban park. The home is designed for passive cooling,
with strategically located windows and doors for optimal air-flow and innovative
attic fan technology. The house is zoned to enable the owners to close off
unoccupied areas, for added efficiency.
The clients’ green-design goals also include the use of solar thermal and stub-out for future photovoltaic technology, natural day lighting, radiant flooring, and the use of regional, certified and rapidly renewable materials.
The exterior features natural local stone and stucco, energy efficient windows, antique chimney pots and local artisan iron-work. The home was sited to maintain established trees and minimize site disturbance.
